John Blackie is our first speaker in 2020. He will give a talk entitled ” Gardening Through History” at The Railway Staff Club , Feus Road, Perth on Thursday 19th March.
John lives in the Aucherarder area and took a career change later in life from working in the chemicals industry to becoming a professional gardener via a National Trust Gardening Scheme . He trained at Branklyn as a heritage gardener then gained further practical gardening experience at Kincarrathie. He expanded into running his own business ” Heritage Gardens” maintaining and renovating gardens in our local area. His passion is planting designs as he is interested in considering how gardens change over time and what influences these changes.
His talk will start at 7pm with refreshments served over an informal question and answer session after the main presentation.
