It was all flowers and compost when Janet Wetherell demonstrated how to create the perfect hanging basket for all season long colour. She enlightened us as to the value of water retaining gel and slow release granular fertiliser before advising us on flower colour and variety choice to plant up our containers. An hour of chatter and laughter later and eleven delighted participants left with containers brimming with summer promise. Now to water them!
