Thanks to Graeme Butler from Rumbling Brig Nursery, Kinross, members learned of plenty of reliable, virtually indestructible plants for our local area with long lasting flowering periods and tolerance for difficult growing conditions. His illustrated talk, yesterday evening, showed plenty of options of alpines, shrubs, and perennials that are undiscovered jewels to make our gardens that little bit different from our neighbours. It’s a wonder these are not more popular in our locality. After an opportunity for formal question there was light refreshmant with homebaking which gave the audience an opportunity to quiz Graeme further with horticultural issues. Other took the opportunity to buy some of his usual plants on offer.
