The weather was on our side for the 2018 Summer Bedding Container Workshop which this year was held at the home of Norman and Anne Taylor. Warmth and sun spurred us all on to think that summer had arrived and we busily planted up containers  to overflowing. The principle centre point offered were named fuchsia or osteospurmum, then there was a choice of trailing fillers like lysmachia, bacopa, trailing lobelia. Finally there were the regular fillers like begonia, petunia and french marigold. One of the petunias was an unusual blue mauve whilst one verbena was an attractive two tone pink and white. At the end the extra plants were shared out so more containers can be filled and appreciated over the summer.

If that was not enough then we were invited to view our host’s garden and rounded off the afternoon with a light refreshments and some of the lightest scones, carrot cake and lemon drizzle cake that any of us had been offered before.

Thank you so much for the invitation Norman and Anne. It was a really great afternoon that we shall be reminded of throughout the summer when admiring our colourful containers.
